💜Spring Forward!

Image of spring flowers in an array of colours. Spring is ideal time to renew your mindfulness and meditation practices

Spring has finally sprung, and it's time to let go of the winter blues and embrace the season of renewal and fresh starts. But let's be honest, after a years of lockdowns and online schooling, our minds might be a little rusty when it comes to mindfulness and positive thinking. So, let's approach this with a bit of humor and light-heartedness.

First of all, let's talk about the power of fresh starts. We all know the feeling of starting a new year, a new semester, or even a new day with high hopes and a list of goals. But then, life happens, and we find ourselves binge-watching Netflix instead of working on that project. So, let's take a lesson from the plants and animals that come to life in the spring. They don't worry about the mistakes they made in the past or the goals they didn't achieve. They just keep growing and blooming, and that's exactly what we should do too. So, let's give ourselves permission to start fresh and embrace the possibilities of the season.

Now, let's talk about mindfulness. If you're like

me, you might have a hard time focusing on the present moment without getting distracted by your thoughts or surroundings. But don't worry, there's a solution for that: the "mindful walk." Take a walk outside, and pay attention to everything around you: the sound of birds, the feel of the wind, the smell of flowers. And when you notice your mind wandering, just gently bring it back to the present moment. And if you accidentally step on a puddle or trip over a rock, just laugh it off and keep going. It's all part of the experience.

Finally, let's talk about the power of positivity. We've all heard the advice to "look on the bright side," but sometimes that's easier said than done. So, here's a little trick: think of something that makes you happy, like your favorite food or a funny memory. And then, whenever you start feeling negative or stressed, just bring that thought back to your mind. It might sound silly, but it really works.

So, there you have it: a funny and light-hearted guide to spring renewal and mindfulness. Let's embrace the season with open hearts and minds, and let's not take ourselves too seriously along the way.

Happy spring!
